Building Boating’s Future… Today!

Plywood Regatta is only as successful as its mentors.

Whether you’re currently in the marine industry or have been involved in some facet of the marine industry during your lifetime, we WANT YOU!

Parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, cousins and siblings- we all have known young people at  some stage in our lives, so why not take this opportunity to mentor a Plywood Regatta team for two days?

Help a team of students construct a canal worthy, ahem, SEAworthy vessel to take them to the top of the Plywood Regatta boat building forefront!

Need more information or more persuasion, please give us a call at 954.524.2733

What the Mentors are Saying

Scott Salomon

- Hall of Fame Marina, Plywood Mentor-15 Years

I love being able to share my knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm with the Plywood Regatta teams of students, who always take the challenge of boat building seriously and truly give it their all. It’s personally very rewarding.

Kelly Mcmillen

- Plywood Mentor-5 Years

Participating as a mentor for the annual Plywood Regatta is extremely fulfilling, especially when I see the students show tremendous determination and take such pride in their work. They are so eager to learn, and I believe it’s important to impart some of what I know to the next generation.

Tell Me More!

I want to help build boating's future now.

Jack Schneider

- RMK Merrill-Stevens, Plywood Mentor-5 Years

Knowing that I’m helping to spark interest in the future of boat building brings me back as a Plywood Regatta mentor year after year. The kids are really enthusiastic about the boat building process, but when the boats are launched for the sea worthiness challenge and race, their excitement is absolutely contagious. --,
